Popov and Dynamo Kyiv drew against Shakhtar Donetsk

In a very intense game, both sides created quality chances but neither team could find the back of the net so the big Ukrainian derby between Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar Donetsk ended 0:0.  With the draw, both teams remain tied at the top of the table with 27 points after 11 rounds in the Ukrainian top division.

Goran Popov, as usual, started at LB and played all 90 minutes.  From all indications, he had a solid game but should have possibly scored a goal in the 22nd minute.  His teammate Oleksandr Aliyev took a dangerous corner from the left and Popov was in a good position but he sent his header from a dangerous position over the goal.  Popov also showed nice skill in the 47th minute when he got past several Shakhtar Donetsk players with nice dribbles before finding Andriy Shevchenko whose cross towards goal was cleared by the opposing team for a corner.
