Petar Miloshevski, the former national team goalkeeper who served as the sporting director for FFM after his retirement, died on Thursday after a tragic car accident.

Yesterday, Petar Miloshevski, FFM president Ilcho Gjorgjioski and other staff members of the Macedonian federation were in Kumanovo for a humanitarian match.  After the event, on the drive back to Skopje, strategy struck when the car Miloshevski was in was hit by another car.  Petar tragically died from the injuries he suffered in the car accident.  Other media in Macedonia reported that Ilcho Gjorgjioski and a couple of other FFM employees were also in the car, and they suffered injuries and were taken to a hospital.

Miloshevski was also remembered by the media in Turkey and Cyprus, where he spent a number of years during his playing career.  He left good memories at all of his club teams, and those teams mourned his death today along with the media in those countries.  Former national team manager Chedomir Janevski, who managed Petar at Cypriot club Enosis, was shaken by the news and spoke very fondly of Petar’s character and love for Macedonian football.

We want to send our condolences to Petar’s family and friends.  He was very professional and transparent in his dealings with the media.  He was available and open to any suggestions that could improve the various Macedonian national teams, both the “A” squad and all of the youth national teams.  Last month, he sat down for an interview with our site along with national team manager Boshko Gjurovski.  We had just published Petar’s interview earlier this week, but that now seems irrelevant with the news of his passing.

Petar was 40 years old.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this difficult time.
