Partizan looking to loan Ashkovski

Stefan Ashkovski did not accompany Partizan for their training camp preparations in Slovenia, and it is expected that he will be loaned to gain playing time and experience.

The 21-year-old Stefan Ashkovski, a member of the Macedonian U21 national team, looks likely to be loaned by Partizan for the upcoming season in order for him to get more playing time.  Partizan still believes in Ashkovski but don’t think he is quite ready to contribute to the first team of the defending Serbian champions.  Therefore, Stefan is likely to be loaned, preferably to another top division club from Serbia where Ashkovski would get regular playing time.

One club that has expressed interest in Ashkovski is FK Donji Srem, a club that finished in 11th place out of 16 teams in Serbia last season.  The sports director of Donji Srem told Serbian newspapers that his club is in talks with Partizan about the arrival of Ashkovski on loan, and further stated that it should be known by this upcoming Wednesday or Thursday whether Stefan will be joining the ranks of Donji Srem.

Even though Ashkovski is listed as a left-back on most sites, the position that he actually played for Teleoptik, Partizan’s feeder team for young players to gain experience, and Macedonia’s youth teams is on the left wing.  Stefan originally joined Partizan’s youth system several years ago from Macedonian side Metalurg.
