Orhan Mustafi, a name to remember

Orhan MustafiThe 18-years-old striker born in Macedonia, scored two goals in his debut for FC Basel in the Swiss Super League. The Football Federation of Macedonia should act faster because the Swiss and the Albanian national teams are also interested for this young talent.

Orhan Mustafi is born on 04/04/1990 in Kumanovo, Macedonia. When he was very young he moved to Switzerland where he started playing football in Grasshoper-Club Zürich. In 2006 he moved to FC Zürich where he had the debute in the Swiss Super League. This summer he moved to the Swiss champions, FC Basel 1893 on free transfer. During the summer he impressed with his performances in the pre-season friendly matches, especially with his two goals against KP Legia Warszawa SSA. With this, he was awarded with a place in the first team and he showed that he really deserved it right from the start. He scored two goals in his debute for FC Basel. With his goals in the 56th and 63rd minute, Orhan Mustafi was the best player in the 4:0 for his FC Basel over newly promoted  FC Vaduz.

Orhan Mustafi is awaiting his Swiss passport in this next period and by that, the chances for invitation to play for the Swiss youth national teams is very big because of his good performances. The Albanian football federation is also interested for this player because of his origins. Obviously, the Macedonian football federation didn't learn the lesson with Robert Stambolziev who was waiting for the call from Macedonia for six months and at the end he was called up by Australia. The coaches of the Macedonian national teams and the leaders of FFM must react faster for this player, because Macedonia is close to lose another talent.
