Noveski and Mainz drew 0:0 against Hertha

Noveski (L) in action; photo: Yahoo!Macedonian international Nikolce Noveski played the entire game for Mainz and was part of a defense that kept a clean sheet for Mainz.

Noveski started in his usual left CB position and played all 90 minutes for Mainz who drew 0:0 on the road against Hertha Berlin.  Noveski was also the captain for Mainz.  Despite being a defender, Noveski attempted three shots on goal but they all went off target.

In the 41st minute, following a corner, the ball reached Noveski but his shot from the edge of the area went over the goal.  Then, just before halftime, Noveski got his header on a free kick played in the box but it also went over the goal.  Finally, in the 68th minute, Noveski attempted a shot from distance but it failed to threaten the opposing keeper by going high and wide of the goal.

With the draw, Mainz is now in 15th place out of 18 teams with 9 points after ten rounds in the German Bundesliga.  Their opponents from today, Hertha Berlin, moved to 10th place with 13 points in the same number of games.  Noveski has played the maximum 900 minutes from those ten league games for Mainz with one yellow card and one own goal.
