Urdinov (R) and Ekranas played a hard fought draw in Ireland; photo: novamakedonija.com.mkThe teams of Agim Ibraimi, Igor Mitreski, Aleksandar Lazevski and Stefan Ashkovski moved one step closer to advancing to the third qualifying round of the Champions League, while Darko Tasevski and Bazhe Ilijoski made their debuts for their new clubs.

UEFA Champions League, Second Qualifying Round, Maribor – Željezničar 4:1
Agim Ibraimi played the entire game for Maribor who overcame a 0:1 halftime deficit to score four goals after the break, one of them coming from a penalty.  Maribor will now take a commanding three goal advantage into the return leg next week in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

UEFA Champions League, Second Qualifying Round, Žilina – Ironi Kiryat Shmona 1:0
Darko Tasevski started for Ironi Kiryat Shmona and played until the 82nd minute when he was substituted by Ravid Gazal.  Tasevski also received a yellow card in the 33rd minute.  This was Darko’s competitive debut for the defending league champions from Israel.

UEFA Champions League, Second Qualifying Round, Valletta – Partizan 1:4
Aleksandar Lazevski did not make the trip with Partizan as he doesn’t appear to be in the plans of new manager Vladimir Vermezović, while his teammate Stefan Ashkovski did accompany the team but did not make the final 18 squad for the match.

UEFA Champions League, Second Qualifying Round, Shamrock Rovers – Ekranas 0:0
Yani Urdinov played all 90 minutes for Ekranas at left-back and was part of a defense that kept a clean sheet.  Urdinov was also shown a yellow card in the early part of the 2nd half.

UEFA Champions League, Second Qualifying Round, Neftçi – Zestafoni 3:0
Igor Mitreski played the entire game for Neftçi at center back as his club rolled to a convincing home victory over Zestafoni in the first leg of the matchup.

UEFA Europa League, Second Qualifying Round, Rapid București – MyPa 3:1
Bazhe Ilijoski started on the bench for Rapid București before he entered the game at the start of the 2nd half replacing Ștefan Grigorie.  Ilijoski had a good chance in the 83rd minute but he squandered the opportunity as Rapid scored all three goals in the opening 45 minutes.   

UEFA Europa League, Second Qualifying Round, Inter Bakı – Asteras Tripoli 1:1
Slavcho Georgievski played all 90 minutes for Inter Bakı who took the initial lead early in the 2nd half before Asteras equalized in the 54th minute.

UEFA Europa League, Second Qualifying Round, Dacia – Elfsborg 1:0
Goran Dimovski played from the start for Dacia at right-back while his teammate Ersen Sali was out with a red card suspension.  Dacia surprised Swedish side Elfsborg with the lone goal being scored in the 32nd minute.

UEFA Europa League, Second Qualifying Round, Hajduk Split – Skonto 2:0
Bojan Gjorgievski played the entire game for Skonto who conceded one goal in each half on their way to the 2:0 defeat away to Hajduk Split from Croatia.

UEFA Europa League, Second Qualifying Round, Lokomotiv Plovdiv – Vitesse 4:4
Dragi Kocev was not among the 18 players called up by Lokomotiv Plovdiv.

China, FA Cup, Tianjin Teda – Shandong Luneng 1:1  (Shandong advanced 4:2 on penalties)
Veliche Shumulikoski played the entire game for Tianjin Teda and also received a yellow card in the 68th minute.  Since it was tied after regulation, the match went into penalty shootout where Shandong Luneng prevailed 4:2 to eliminate Tianjin Teda from the domestic cup.

China, FA Cup, Liaoning – Guangzhou R&F 4:3
Vlatko Grozdanoski did not play for Liaoning who advanced to the next round of the competition.

Sweden, Allsvenskan, Häcken – Örebro 2:1
Armend Alimi remains out with an injury for Örebro.
