Goran Pandev started in attacking midfield for Napoli and played until the 66th minute when he was substituted by Marek Hamšík. Pandev played a part in the second Napoli goal in the 24th minute when José Callejón’s cross reached Pandev whose attempted headed pass to Gonzalo Higuaín contacted the head of an opposing defender. However, the Marseille defender made a bad clearance on his header and actually set up Higuaín to score on a volley.

Daniel Georgievski played the entire game for Steaua who conceded a late equalizer in the second minute of stoppage time in the 90th minute. On that goal, Basel striker Giovanni Sio managed to get in front of his marker Georgievski before sending a sliding effort past the Steaua keeper.

Ferhan Hasani opened the game on the bench for Brøndby before he was introduced at the start of the 2nd half to replace Martin Ørnskov. Hasani first scored what looked like a legit goal in the 79th minute, only for the referee to make a delayed call that Hasani had fouled the Vestsjælland. However, four minutes later, Ferhan did get his goal when he beat the offside trap and sent a right footed shot to the back of the net.

Darko Tofiloski played from the start for Košice and kept a clean sheet in the home victory over Tatran Prešov. Košice reached the semi-finals of the Slovak Cup with the 4:1 aggregate victory over their opponents.

Yani Urdinov played all 90 minutes for Željezničar and was part of a defense that kept a clean sheet. Urdinov had a good chance in the 52nd minute that resulted in a good save by the Slavija keeper. After winning 4:0 on aggregate over the two games, Željezničar advanced to the quarter-finals of the Bosnian Cup.

Zeni Husmani played the entire game for Domžale and scored the lone goal in the 51st minute on a right footed shot from the edge of the area. Despite the win, Domžale was still eliminated from the domestic cup competition by losing 1:2 on aggregate.
