Midweek internationals performances

Ostoja Stjepanovikj; photo: fakt.plA number of Macedonian internationals were in action during the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League and Europa League.  Here is a recap of their performances:

UEFA Champions League, Third Qualifying Round, Dinamo Tbilisi – Steaua București 0:2
Daniel Georgievski played the entire game for Steaua București and was part of a defense that kept a clean sheet, while Darko Glishikj started at left-back for Dinamo Tbilisi and also played the entirety of the match for his team.  Steaua got two 2nd half goals from Gabriel Iancu to put itself in a great position heading into the return leg in Romania next week.

UEFA Champions League, Third Qualifying Round, APOEL – Maribor 1:1
Agim Ibraimi started on the right wing for Maribor and played until the 71st minute when he was replaced by Aleš Mejač.  Maribor scored an all important away goal in the 64th minute through a header by Marcos Tavares to secure a hard fought draw.

UEFA Champions League, Third Qualifying Round, PSV Eindhoven – Zulte Waregem 2:0
Aleksandar Trajkovski was an unused substitute for Zulte Waregem.

UEFA Europa League, Third Qualifying Round, Botev Plovdiv – Stuttgart 1:1
Boban Grncharov played all 90 minutes for Botev Plovdiv whose lone goal in the 73rd minute came just six minutes after Stuttgart has taken the initial lead.  The return leg in Germany next week will decide which team reaches the play-off round of the competition.

UEFA Europa League, Third Qualifying Round, Trenčín – Astra 1:3
Mirko Ivanovski started on the bench for Astra before he entered the game in the 78th minute to substitute fellow striker Kehinde Fatai.

UEFA Europa League, Third Qualifying Round, Qarabağ – Gefle 1:0
Muarem Muarem played the opening 45 minutes for Qarabağ before he was replaced at the start of the 2nd half by Brazilian midfielder Chumbinho.

UEFA Europa League, Third Qualifying Round, Tromsø – Differdange 1:0
Omer Bisevac got the start for Differdange in attacking midfield and played until the 69th minute when he made way for Gilles Bettmer.

Poland, T-Mobile Ekstraklasa, Korona Kielce – Wisła Kraków 2:3
Ostoja Stjepanovikj played the entire game for Wisła Kraków and also received a yellow card in the 12th minute.  Wisła collected its first win of the early season thanks to a converted penalty in stoppage time of the 90th minute.

Japan, J.League, Nagoya – Kashima 3:1
Nikola Jakimovski was an unused substitute for Nagoya.

Bulgaria, A Group, Beroe – CSKA Sofia 1:1
Hristijan Kirovski began the game on the bench for CSKA Sofia before he was introduced in the 63rd minute to take the place of Bruno Moreira.
