Ilco Naumoski and Mattersburg closed the first half of the season in Austria with a tough 0:1 home loss against Magna Wiener Neustadt.
Ilco Naumoski started just behind the lone striker Patrick Bürger and played all 90 minutes for the home side who suffered a 0:1 home loss against Magna Wiener Neustadt. Magna and Mattersburg were the eight and ninth ranked clubs on the table and the former was able to extend their lead to five points with today’s narrow victory. Naumoski had one quality chance for Mattersburg but his header in the 7th minute went just wide of the goal. Despite Mattersburg creating more chances as a team, the visitors managed to score the only goal of the game in the 87th minute through Tomas Simković.
This was the final game during the first half of the season in Austria as Mattersburg is currently second from bottom on the table in the league featuring ten teams. Mattersburg has a seven point advantage over last placed Kapfenberg. The winter break will now get underway as Mattersburg’s next league game is not until 11 February 2012 when they face Sturm Graz on the road.
