Marko Jovanovski, who turns 24 years old next month, will compete with Arkadiusz Malarz, another keeper signed by Ethnikos Achnas, for the starting job that was opened up with the departure of Macedonian international Edin Nuredinoski.  Edin’s contract expired while the backup keeper from last season was released so Ethnikos Achnas was looking for at least two keepers in the summer transfer window.

The transfer of Jovanovski was finalized very quickly with Ethnikos Achnas assistant manager Borche Gjurev playing a big part in the deal getting done.  He recommended Marko to the club’s management who then reacted quickly and agreed the contract parameters to complete the transfer.

Jovanovski moves to Ethnikos Achnas after spending last year with Shkendija where he compiled 28 league appearances.  He becomes just the latest key player to leave the third placed side from the 2011/12 season after Ersen Sali, Oliver Peer, Kemal Alomerovic and Vladimir Nikitovic.
