Goran Pandev and Inter win the Champions League trophy, while Dusan Savić scores his second goal in a Braşov uniform.
UEFA Champions League Final, Bayern München – Inter 0:2
Goran Pandev started for Inter as a left winger in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Pandev has had to sacrifice his game since his move to Inter as he is asked by Inter manager José Mourinho to help out on defense and both Pandev and right winger Samuel Eto’o have been unselfish and haven’t complained about their roles even though they were used differently by their previous teams. Pandev was quiet in the 1st half and spent the majority of his time defending Bayern RB Philip Lahm and helping LB Christian Chivu deal with Arjen Robben. Pandev was much more active in the 2nd half and had a chance in the 47th minute when Diego Milito found him but Bayern keeper Butt made a great finger tip save and it went for a corner. Pandev then won a free kick in a dangerous area for Inter in the 53rd minute but Wesley Sneijder’s free kick was just over the goal. Pandev did his job and kept Lahm quiet who is great at going forward and he did the same when Inter eliminated Barcelona by limiting Dani Alves, another RB who is great at going forward. Pandev played until the 79th minute and ran 9.13 km in this game which shows his work rate and willingness to win. Inter won the treble as they won the Scudetto, Coppa Italia, and now the Champions League. Pandev only scored three goals for Inter in all competitions but he did win three trophies and should get better as he gets more familiar with his Inter teammates.
