Macedonian First League – Round 15

First League 11 Oktomvri noted their second win of the season after defeating fellow relegation challengers Horizont Turnovo.

It was do or die for 11 Oktomvri today against Horizont Turnovo and they managed to collect three points.  After FFM lifted their home stadium suspension, 11 Oktomvri was back in Prilep at the Goce Delcev Stadium and used the home field advantage to defeat Horizont Turnovo.  It was 0:0 at half-time, but Blagoja Gesoski opened the scoring in 52nd minute with a nice header past the opposing keeper.  Horizont Turnovo pushed forward, but that resulted in a penalty for 11 Oktomvri.  However, the penalty was missed so Horizont Turnovo was still in the game.  11 Oktomvri confirmed the win with a late goal scored by Aleksandar Veljanovski in the 90th minute to clinch an important three points.

Rabotnicki continues their struggles with a narrow home loss against Metalurg.  The visitors celebrated a 0:1 win with the lone goal of the game being scored by Cvetan Curlinov in the 39th minute.  Several minutes earlier, Dime Lazarevski of Rabotnicki received a red card and left his club with 10 men.  This was Rabotnicki’s 7th consecutive defeat in league play and they remained in 9th place with only 15 points.  Meanwhile, with the slim win couple with Vardar’s draw yesterday, Metalurg is once again just five points behind the leaders Vardar.

Napredok vs. Shkendija finished 0:0, thus making it the third scoreless draw of the round.

On Tuesday, Renova held Vardar to a 0:0 draw just like in the first matchup between these two teams earlier in the season, while FK Ohrid and Bregalnica Stip shared the points with the same scoreline at the SRC Atina Bojadzi in Ohrid.  Meanwhile, Sileks thumped Teteks 4:0. It was 0:0 at half-time but in the span of seven minutes from the 57th to 64th minute, Sileks scored three goals to cement the win and guarantee that the three points will stay with the home club.  Towards the end of the match, Angel Nacev scored his second goal to set the final score at 4:0 for Sileks.
