A-League | Round 2
Adelaide United – Melbourne Victory 1:0
Spase Dilevski (26) played 83 great minutes in this big game for his team Adelaide. The former PSV and Tottenham defensive midfielder before he was replaced by Francisco Usucar, managed to neutralise the attacks of the opponents and to win the direct encounter with the leagues number 1 star Harry Kewell. Along with the goalkeeper of his team Eugene Galekovic and the goal scorer Sergio van Dijk he got the best ratings on this match. Dilevski has never got a call by the Socceroos although he got 47 caps for Australia U17, U20 and U23.
Wellington Phoenix – Newcastle Jets 2:0
Benjamin “Ben” Kantarovski (19) – The youngest player in A-League history to sign a full-time A-League contract, and one of the youngest players in world football to do so, played the whole match for his side Newcastle Jets. The young midfielder despite the loss was rated as the best performer in his team. In 2010 Ben turned down the offer to join Bayern München youth academy and insted of that he focused on developing himself at his current club. Kantarovski is captain of the young Socceroos. He was called up by Socceroos coach Pim Veerbek into the Socceroos squad to play Kuwait in the AFC Asian Cup qualifying game, but still he doesn’t have a cap as in the senior team.
Sydney FC – Brisbane Roar 0:2
Ivan Necevski (31) – The experienced goalkeeper was on the bench as a reserve goalkeeper for Sydney FC. Hopefully soon we will see him as a number 1 goalkeeper for Sydney, knowing that he is one of the favourite guys to Sydney FC manager Vítězslav Lavička. Ivan Necevski has total of 101 appeareances in A-League including 3 finals games which makes him one of the most experienced GK in the league.
Blagoja “Billy” Celeski (Melbourne Victory) and Mile Sterjovski (Peth Glory) were both sidelined due to injuries.
