Retired goalkeeper Jane Nikoloski is the new manager of Second League side Pobeda Junior.
The former national team goalkeeper (who made 27 caps) starts a new role by joining the coaching ranks. Nikoloski ended his career back in the summer of 2010, and now the 40-year-old is back in his hometown of Prilep to help the local club.
“I’m glad that I will start my coaching career in my club Pobeda, in my city of Prilep. I’m hoping for a successful beginning.” – Nikoloski told mkd.mk.
Pobeda Junior is a new club formed in 2010, but many from the city of Prilep consider it as a successor to the original Pobeda who was suspended by FIFA due to match fixing and can’t be reinstated until the 2017/18 season. That’s why these two clubs are meant to be totally different, so Nikoloski is not actually back in the club where he made his first footballing steps. The city is the same, the stadium is the same, the colors are the same, the fans are the same, but FIFA’s rules tell a different story.
