Ivanovski forced an own goal

Mirko Ivanovski attempted to score with a header but his marker in the box accidentally sent his header to the back of the net for an own goal.

During yesterday’s Arka vs. Dolcan game, Arka celebrated a 3:1 victory with Macedonian international Mirko Ivanovski playing all 90 minutes.  In the 22nd minute, Arka midfielder Jakub Kowalski took a free kick from the left and Ivanovski jumped high to win the header but he was beaten in the air by his marker who then accidentally sent his header to the back of the net for an own goal.

Ivanovski celebrated like he scored the goal and initially, the scoreboard listed Ivanovski as the goal scorer.  However, replays clearly showed that the defender scored an own goal so after the game, the ruling was changed and Ivanovski was not credited with the goal.  Saying that, Ivanovski put pressure on his marker who seemed to panic and scored an own goal.  Arka celebrated a 3:1 victory as they now have 9 points from nine league games.
