Even though some rumors surfaced from Macedonia that Ivan Trickovski might play in the return leg against Real Madrid, those reports were false.

Ivan Trickovski is only training with APOEL in order to stay in shape.  Since the injury is to his arm, Ivan is able to run and participate in training but he remains unable to play in a live game at this time.  In training, the APOEL players are not able to make contact with Trickovski.

Ivan can not play in live games due to risks of making the injury even worse.  Football is a contact sport and Trickovski would be jeopardizing his injury if he were to fell on his arm after a foul from an opposing player.  That is a frequent occurrence, especially for a striker, in the game so Ivan remains weeks away from returning to the football pitch.  Even a special cast could not limit the risk associated with playing in a live game for Trickovski since he just underwent a surgery last week.

The hand injury must be given enough time to heal properly, and APOEL will not risk one its best players in a game where they are already eliminated from the Champions League, considering the result from the first leg in which they lost 0:3.  In addition, UEFA.com and several Cypriot newspapers reported that Trickovski will not play for APOEL in this game against Real Madrid.
