German Bundesliga club Köln is reportedly interested in signing Macedonian international Ivan Trickovski, according to the newspaper “Kathimerini.”
The newspaper, citing exclusive information, reports that Köln is willing to offer 1.5-2 million euros to capture the signature of attacker Ivan Trickovski. Köln initially preferred to take Trickovski on loan for six months and then have an option to purchase him outright in the summer but APOEL rejected that proposal. The Cypriot club is not against selling Trickovski but would prefer to do so in the summer since APOEL is still active in the Champions League Round of 16.
APOEL was drawn to face French club Lyon in the Round of 16 and would like to have Trickovski available for that matchup. According to the newspaper, Trickovski has known about the Köln interest for a week but both he and APOEL would prefer a move in the summer.
Trickovski has a contract with APOEL until the summer of 2013. Ivan will turn 25 in April and seems interested in testing his abilities in a better league. The only thing holding back a transfer at the present moment is the desire of Trickovski to help APOEL advance even further in the Champions League. However, it’s likely that Ivan will be sold this upcoming summer and APOEL and Köln could certainly negotiate a transfer fee for a potential transfer in the summer.
