What are the methods of work of youth teams in Denmark and do you know how the youth teams in Macedonia work? Can you tell us how behind are we?
– It's a hard question that needs a long answer and it's whole study that has to be done on a long-term plan. I think that it's impossible to make a comparation between Denmark and Macedonia because the conditions and the pitches that are offered to the kids in Denmark can't be compared with the Macedonian. Every municipality in Denmark has a football club and every club has at least 6 pitches for trainings where at least 300 kids can train.
There are many categories of players in Denmark. In every club there are groups of children on all age, starting from 5 years old to seniors. They all train at least 2 times a week dependently on their ambitions and on their quality, they are sorted in different teams. For every age, there's a league where they compete. Every kid has a ball on the training and there are at least 2 skilled coaches who work with them. Every year, a journey abroad is organized where the kids compete on tournaments and meet other kids from different countries. The youth teams have great conditions for trainings and improvement of their football skills. The fact that Denmark is on the high 31st place on the FIFA ranking list tells a lot about the organization of the football structure, having in mind that Denmark is a small country with only 5 million inhabitants.
The situation is a lot different in Macedonia. The conditions for trainings are very bad, because the kids don't have enough balls for training, the pitches are in very bad condition… We can't expect a team who owns only 5 football balls to produce good players because playing with the ball is the basic thing for learning the secrets of the football.
But everything is not so black in Macedonia. We have an advantage because the kids in Macedonia are born with a talent that is bigger then the kids in Denmark. The talent is one of the basic factors for a good football player. Apart from the talent that the Macedonian kids have, they only need the basic conditions for improvement. I'm sure that Macedonia can do a lot more with the youth players if there is bigger wish. I have sent a letter to the Macedonian Football Federation with a complete long-term plan for work with young players. I didn't get any answer.
I wan't to say that we have a background that we have to improve and deploy. The most important is the will. Everything else will come later by itself. I have a lot to talk about on this subject and I really hope that the leaders of the Macedonian Football, one day will learn and understand the advantages that will be gain by creating better conditions for the young football players.
On what level the Danish football is? How are the Danish people interested in the domestic football in comparison with the bigger leagues (England, Italy, Germany, Spain…)?
– In the last 5-6 years the level of the Danish football is rising. A lot money is invested and many good players are coming from abroad. FC København is leading the Danish football and last season they were playing in the Champions League.
The media have big impact on improving the football in Denmark Every day they are around the clubs and they report everything. The medias have managed to create idols from the players between the young kids and by that the interest for the football is growing. The foreign league are also followed by the Danish people but the intention goes to the clubs where Danish internationals play. I can say that the level of the football in Denmark is rapidly growing in the last 5-6 years.
