Inter Zaprešić braces for Nestorovski exit

Ilija Nestorovski, 23, has resurrected his career this season at Inter Zaprešić after a tumultuous year in 2012.  Back then, his career seemed to be heading in the wrong direction with disappointing loan stints at Viktoria Žižkov and Metalurg.  However, prior to this season, he made a quiet transfer to Inter Zaprešić which has worked out seamlessly for Nestorovski.

Heading into the current campaign, Ilija was able to win the CF job and has not looked back with a total of 12 goals in 16 league appearances.  The only two games that he missed came as a result of yellow card suspensions.  His goal tally is good enough for first on the list of top goalscorers in Croatia’s second division.  Nestorovski scored an additional two goals in the Croatian Cup.

That consistency in scoring goals on a regular basis, albeit in the second division, has led to interest from clubs in Croatia’s top flight and also from abroad.  Inter Zaprešić is known as a selling club, so they will not stand in Nestorovski’s way if they receive a desirable offer for his services.  Over the upcoming winter transfer window, Inter Zaprešić will evaluate bids for Nestorovski, and they are expected to cash in on the highest offer.

Inter Zaprešić has a good reputation of developing players before selling them to bigger clubs.  Another Macedonian player, Aleksandar Trajkovski, was beneficiary of that philosophy as he used his solid performances at Inter Zaprešić to eventually make a transfer to Belgian side Zulte Waregem.
