Ilievski’s Bangladesh opened SAFF games with draw

Nikola Ilievski’s Bangladesh opened the SAFF games with a goalless draw against Pakistan.

The South-Asian Football Federation Cup started today with Bangladesh, led by manager Nikola Ilievski, among the participating teams.  The opening match of the Cup was played between Bangladesh and Pakistan, the same match-up as Ilievski’s debut for Bangladesh.  However, unlike the first match which Bangladesh won 3:0, today’s encounter ended 0:0.  Before the tournament, Ilievski announced that his side will approach each game seriously and will be looking to win the tournament.

Bangladesh is in Group B and besides Pakistan, the other teams in the group include Maldives and Nepal.  The matches are being played at the Jawaharlar Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, India.  The top two teams in the group will advance to the semi-finals.

The next match for Bangladesh is scheduled for the 4th of December and the opponent is Nepal.
