Another Macedonian international found the back of the net this weekend as Goran Popov was on target for Dynamo Kyiv.
After Daniel Mojsov, Armend Alimi, and Slavco Georgievski, Goran Popov became the latest Macedonian international to score a goal this weekend. Popov started in his usual LB position for the Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kyiv and scored the first goal for his team in the 24th minute. Goran scored on a powerful header after a well taken corner kick by his teammate Oleksandr Aliyev. Dynamo Kyiv eventually won 4:0 over Dnipro.
Goran Popov joined Dynamo Kyiv last summer from Dutch club Heerenveen. This was his second league goal in a Dynamo Kyiv uniform in 22 appearances. Goran began his Dynamo Kyiv career pretty slow as he was bothered by a nagging injury and the fans were not convinced of his qualities. However, since the appointment of Yuri Semin as manager, Popov has been playing well and has become a regular for the Ukrainian club at LB.
