Goran Pandev was greeted warmly by the Napoli fans during today’s presentation of the team in front of 60,000 fans.

Goran Pandev was cheered loudly by the Napoli fans as they chanted Goran’s name and welcomed him to their club.  Napoli played a friendly today against Palermo but before the game, all of the Napoli players were presented to the fans including the newest player Goran Pandev.  Goran chose to wear #29 this season, giving up the #27 he wore at Inter.  His first option was #19 like in his Lazio days but that number was already taken so Goran settled for #29.  Pandev just joined Napoli so manager Walter Mazzarri decided not to play Goran during today’s friendly against Palermo which Napoli ended up winning 3:1.

After the friendly, Mazzarri hailed Pandev as a fantastic signing and noted that he will really help the team since Napoli will be playing in three competitions this season (Serie A, Champions League, and Coppa Italia).  Goran was also welcomed by the players with open arms and he intends to prove his worth with Napoli this season after constantly being put down by the Inter fans over the past year.
