Good Volyn debut for attacker Dusan Savić

Dusan Savić could soon have a new teamDusan Savić, currently on trial at Volyn, had a good performance in the first friendly for the Ukrainian club in today’s game against Teuta in Turkey.

Volyn played their first friendly during their preparations in Turkey where they faced Albanian side Teuta who feature Flamur Tahiri, a member of the Macedonian U21 national team.  Savić is on trial at Volyn and was given a chance to play in the 2nd half.  Dusan did not reach the back of the net but was pretty active during his time on the field in Volyn’s 1:0 victory over Teuta.  Vance Sikov was kept out by Volyn because of a knee injury that will keep him on the sidelines for about three weeks.

After the match, when new Volyn manager Anatoliy Demyanenko was asked about the trial players, he said “I was pleased with the play of Pylypchuk and Savić while Nakonechny did not show enough.”

Demynanko actually knows Savić from their time in Uzbekistan.  While Dusan was playing for Pakhtakor in early 2011, Demynanko was the manager of another Uzbek club in Nasaf.  Savić was one of the top players in the league so when Demynanko recently became the Volyn manager, he decided to bring Dusan on trial since he was a free agent.  Savić last played for Rabotnicki but he only signed for six months in order to pursue a transfer abroad in this January transfer window.  If he maintains his good play, then he has a pretty good chance of continuing his career with Volyn.
