Aleksandar Damchevski, earlier this month, completed a transfer to Chernomorets in Bulgaria.  Although Damchevski has been capped by the Macedonian U21 national team, not much is known about him to the Macedonian football supporters.  Thus, we reached out to Aleksandar for a quick interview so he can introduce himself and tell us more about his background and career.

We talked to Damchevski about where he was born and his connection to Macedonia, which clubs he has played for, his preferred position, his experience with the U21 national team and also how he got into contact with Chernomorets.

Here is our question and answer session with Damchevski:

MF: Aleksandar, tell us more about you? Were you born in Macedonia? How long have you lived in France?
AD: I was born in France, in Strasbourg, and I currently live there as well. My father is from Macedonia.

MF: For which clubs have you played in your career?
AD: When I was young, I used to play football in Germany with FV Kehler. I left France in 2012 and I went to Switzerland (FC Luzern U21). In June of 2013, I was loaned by FC Luzern to SC Kriens (Swiss third division), and now in January 2014 I moved to Chernomorets Burgas.

MF: What position do you play? Is there a player you look up to?
AD: I play as a left central defender and this is my favorite position because I feel confident there and this is where I think I bring the best of myself to the team.  Cristiano Ronaldo is my inspiration because of his hard work, motivation and confidence.

MF: You also have been capped by the Macedonian U21 national team. How was that experience?
AD: I’m proud of my experience with the national team.  I learned a lot and it was a pleasure to represent my country’s colors.

MF: How did you get in contact with Chernomorets? What are your expectations with your new club?
AD: I contacted Chernomorets Burgas through my manager.  My hope is to bring the best of myself and lead the team to victories.
