The fourth summer reinforcement for the Macedonian champions Vardar is Spanish midfielder Jorge Giménez from Lleida Esportiu.
For the first time a player from Spain will play in the Macedonian First League as Vardar signed the 27-year-old midfielder Jorge Giménez Artuñedo who last played for Lleida Esportiu.
After reaching deals with attacker Dragan Gjorgiev from Turnovo, midfielder Aleksandar Temelkov from Sileks and Nigerian left back Abraham Alechenwu from Flamurtari Vlorë, the Macedonian champions Vardar signed a two year contract with Jorge Giménez Artuñedo, who can play as an attacking midfielder or on the right wing. Jorge was actually on trial at Vardar and did enough to convince the coaches of his quality before being offered a contract which he accepted.
Vardar is getting ready for the Champions League qualifications, and will learn its opponent for the second qualifying round this upcoming Monday on 25 June. Born in Bétera on January 7th 1985, Giménez was a free agent who last season played for Spanish third league side Lleida Esportiu, the same club where Macedonian players Boban Babunski and Goran Stanikj used to play.
