Boshko Gjurovski has announced the final list made of 23 men for the upcoming friendly matches against Cameroon and Qatar.
Macedonia will face Cameroon on 26th of May in Austria and then 4 days later the team will travel to Italy for a test against Qatar. Gjurovski has today announced a 23 men list for these matches which will probably have some changes for the second match against Qatar. Ostoja Stjepanovikj and Stefan Ristovski are not among the players because they will still have club duties, Ezgjan Alioski is not included because he is injured and Muhamed Demiri will also not feature as he is getting married, but Borche Manevski from Rabotnichki has also been called up.
Goalkeepers: Tome Pachovski (Mechelen, Belgium), Andreja Efremov (Metalurg)
Defenders: Daniel Georgievski (Steaua, Romania), Aleksandar Todorovski (Sturm, Austria), Goran Popov (WBA, England), Ardian Cuculi (Shkendija), Daniel Mojsov (Brann, Norway), Vanche Shikov (Volyn, Ukraine), Boban Grncharov (Tavriya, Ukraine), Kire Ristevski (Slavia Sofia, Bulgaria)
Midfielders: Stefan Spirovski (Beroe, Bulgaria), Ferhan Hasani (Brøndby, Denmark), Agim Ibraimi (Cagliari, Italy), David Babunski (Barcelona B, Spain), Aleksandar Trajkovski (Mechelen, Belgium), Tauljant Sulejmanov (Rabotnichki)
Attackers: Ivan Trichkovski (Beveren, Belgium), Besart Abdurahimi (Hapoel Tel-Aviv, Israel), Jovan Kostovski (Leuven, Belgium), Adis Jahovikj (Vorskla, Ukraine), Bazhe Ilijoski (Rabotnichki), Krste Velkoski (Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina), Borche Manevski (Rabotnichki)
The squad has 5 domestic-based players but once again seems short of players who can play in central midfield. Some familiar names like Mirko Ivanovski, Nikola Gligorov have not been included.
“We will miss Stjepanovikj, Ristovski, Demiri and Alioski – players that will be seriously considered in the future. Unfortunately, because of injuries and duties they will not be available. Our goal is to see the quality of players who did not have a proper chance of proving themselves in the past and to give them an opportunity to show their qualities. There will most likely be changes before the second match, against Qatar. The seven days in Austria will be of crucial importance for us as a team – we will try to create friendly relations among ourselves, to become a homogenous team which will be exposed both to critics and praises. We need players who will play with passion – I hope these players will provide that, although until the start of the qualifications tournament there is a lot of time remaining” said Boshko Gjurovski.
The team will travel to Austria on 20th of May. Until the match against Cameroon which is scheduled for 26th of May they will have 8 trainings.
