Macedonian U21 manager Boban Babunski called up a squad of 22 players for the home qualifier against Portugal U21 on 23 May.
Macedonia has three games remaining in Group 8 of the 2015 UEFA U21 qualifications. Those three matches come against the top 2 teams on the standings in Portugal and Israel (who they play twice to close group play). Macedonia U21 has very slim chances of finishing in the top two spots since they trail Portugal by 11 points and Israel by 4 points. Macedonia U21 has already played twice against Norway and Azerbaijan, the other two teams in the group.
For the upcoming Portugal qualifier next Friday, manager Boban Babunski has called up 22 players. However, three key players are missing in Aleksandar Trajkovski, Stefan Ristovski and David Babunski. Boban Babunski said he collaborated with senior national team manager Boshko Gjurovski before naming the squad. Ristovski and David Babunski weren’t called up due to obligations with their club teams, while Aleksandar Trajkovski will just focus on the senior national team for friendlies against Cameroon and Qatar.
There is one new name on the list in Philip Petreski from Australian club Northcote City.
