Filip Despotovski moves to Pierikos

The defensive midfielder will continue his career in the Greek second division with Pierikos from Katerini.

The 29-year-old Filip Despotovski signed a 1 year deal with Pierikos, Ekipa reported.  He moves to Greece as a free agent after playing the last season with domestic side Rabotnichki.

This will be his second adventure in Greece after spending the 2006/07 season with Ethnikos Piraeus, also in the second league.

Despotovski was once a regular national team player, especially under former manager Mirsad Jonuz, but has received few call ups by the current manager John Toshack.  With his move to the Greek second division, he is likely to be excluded from the squad in the future as well.

Last season, Pierikos failed to reach the promotion play-offs by just two points and the club will strive to win promotion this upcoming season.
