Attacker Ferhan Hasani has agreed to a 3 year deal with Wolfsburg and will join the German club immediately after the New Year.
The transfer saga surrounding Ferhan Hasani is finally over. The Shkendija attacker, also a member of the Macedonian national team, has agreed in principle to a 3 year deal with German top division side Wolfsburg. Speaking to Alsat-M, Hasani confirmed that he has reached a 3 year deal with Wolfsburg and will continue his career in Germany. Hasani also added, “I’m happy that this soap opera surrounding my transfer ended with success and now I will have the opportunity to play for a quality team such as Wolfsburg.” Hasani plans on returning to Macedonia for the holidays and then join Wolfsburg immediately after the New Year for the start of preparations.
This transfer was somewhat surprising since the current Wolfsburg manager, Felix Magath, also gambled on another Macedonian international in Besart Ibraimi while he was the manager at Schalke 04 in January of 2010 but that transfer did not go well. Ibraimi only made two league appearances before leaving the club one year later. However, it seems Magath was not worried and decided to sign another player directly from the Macedonian top division.
The 21-year-old Hasani, nicknamed Buba, has made 6 appearances for the senior national team of Macedonia while also being capped by the U21 national team. As for league play this season, Hasani made 14 appearances for Shkendija during the first half and was credited with five goals and eight assists during that stretch. Wolfsburg was also linked with Hasani earlier in the summer and according to reports, Hasani chose Wolfsburg over fellow German Bundesliga club Hamburger SV.
