Europa League preview

UEFA Europa LeagueTomorrow, two Macedonian clubs will start their European adventure in the UEFA Europa League. Metalurg for the first time will play an official international game against Qarabağ away, while Rabotnicki will face Lusitanos at home.

At 17.00 CET at the National Arena Philip II of Macedon in Skopje, Rabotnicki will face the Andorran team Lusitanos. The visitors are an unknown team for the Macedonians, but the fact that they come from Andorra makes Rabotnicki firm favorites not just for the first leg, but also to advance in the 2nd round. Lusitanos finished on the 4th place in the Championship round of the Andorran Primera Divisió, 22 points behind the champion FC Santa Coloma. The team is composed only of players from Portugal. The Macedonian public expects an easy win by Rabotnicki with more goals in the visitors net. But will that happen or not we will have to wait and see. All the tickets for the North stand are with a popular prize of 100 Denars.

An hour later, at 18.00 CET Metalurg will have their first ever European game. Away to Qarabağ in Azerbaijan, Metalurg will have to work hard to get a good result against the respected opponent. Qarabağ is a club well known by the Macedonians because the legendary Macedonian national team player Artim Sakiri used to play there along with Zekirija Ramadan and both of them won the Azerbaijan Cup in 2009 with this club. Metalurg is not the favorite for this game, but even a defeat of 2:1 will be a good result before the 2nd leg.
