Rabotnicki won with 5:0 against Lusitanos, while Metalurg lost with 4:1 away to Qarabağ in the UEFA Europa League 1st qualifying round.
Rabotnicki confirmed the fact that was a big favorite before the game and won with 5:0, but had also many chances to make the win bigger. The first chance of the game was in the 9th minute when Wandeir’s shot hit the bar. Three minutes latter the Andorran team was close to take the lead when Kristijan Naumoski saved Pinto Escaleira Luis Filipe’s great shot from 20 metres. In the 24th minute came the first goal of this game. Zé Carlos Filho took a free kick but his shot ended in the wall, the same player run onto the ball and shot again just to open the score. 11 minutes later Wandeir again hit the bar but this time the ball went into the net for a 2:0 lead. Just 10 minutes into the 2nd half and Rabotnicki already was leading with 3:0 when Fábio Silva scored. Two minutes later the same player scored again for 4:0. The final score of 5:0 was put in the 60th minute by Muarem Muarem. Great result for Rabotnicki and we can already say that this macedonian team can start prepairing for the 2nd round.
Metalurg was well beaten in the city of Baku in Azerbaijan where Qarabağ won with 4:1. It was 0:0 until the 24th minute when Miroslav Vajs commited a foul on Giorgi Adamia in the box and the referee showed on the spot. Rəşad Fərhad Sadıxov took the penalty well for a 1:0 lead. Just before the half-time, Əfran İsmayılov scored for 2:0. In the 51st minute Admir Teli was shown a red card and the home team was left with 10 players on the field. Instead of coming back in the game, Metalurg managed to let two more in it’s net. Emin İmaməliyev, who came in from the bench, scored for 3:0 in the 85th minute, while Giorgi Adamia stunned Metalurg in the 2nd minute of the injury time for 4:0. The first european goal for the Macedonian team came in the 4th minute of the injury time when substitute Marko Simonovski put the ball behind the goalee Fərhad Vəliyev. Metalurg will have a very hard task for the 2nd leg, but it’s football and everything is possible.
The return leggs will be played on 8th of July.
