Europa League: Metalurg – Željezničar 0:0

The game was tight without many chances for scoring. The visitors started offensively but failed to created serious chances despite winning few corner kicks in the first twenty minutes. The first good chance for Metalurg came in the 23rd minute when Marko Simonovski fired a shot that was saved by keeper Marijan Antolović. The game continued with Željezničar creating more chance but all of them ended wide.

The second half saw a more attacking Metalurg thanks to the two changes made during the break. The home team hade more chances but all went wide, while Željezničar eventually forced Andreja Efremov to make a save in the 75th minute. Prior to the end of the game both teams tried to score a goal but the outcome remained goalless.

It is interesting to note that a reserve keeper for the Bosnian side was 19-year old Veles born Vedran Kjosevski who so far has made appearances for various Bosnia-Herzegovina youth national teams.

The return leg will be played on 22 July at the Asim Ferhatović Hase stadium in Sarajevo with a kick of at 21.00 CET.
