Goalkeeper Edin Nuredinoski will continue his career in Azerbaijan with FC Bakı.
It is now official – Edin Nuredinoski has decided to sign as a free agent with FC Bakı from Azerbaijan. His agent Jovica Dimovski informed us about the deal which will see Edo staying in Bakı for the next 2 years.
Nuredinoski last played for Ethnikos Achnas in Cyprus but became a free agent after the conclusion of the season. Ethnikos Achnas then quickly replaced Edin with another Macedonian keeper in Marko Jovanovski.
There were some rumors linking Edin to a club in Iran, but such a move never materialized and Edin has now decided to accept the transfer to Azerbaijan. FC Bakı finished in 6th place of the championship group this past season but since the club won the domestic cup title, they are participating in the Europa League qualifications. On 5 July, Bakı played a 0:0 draw in the first leg of their matchup against Slovenian side Mura 05. The return leg will be played on 12 July to see which team will advance to the second qualifying round of the competition, but Nuredinoski will not be eligible to play in that game. Since the contract was signed today, Edin was not in the original Bakı squad that is requested by UEFA several days in advance before a particular round takes place. Nuredinoski would be eligible to play in the next round, assuming Bakı gets past Mura 05.
