Going up against the defending Czech champions Viktoria Plzeň, Macedonian attacker Zoran Danoski scored both of the goals for his team Příbram for a 2:4 home loss.
Viktoria Plzeň, a club that reached the Europa League Round of 16 last season and also beat Napoli 5:0 on aggregate in the Round of 32, played its second game of the Czech season today against Příbram, a club that features Zoran Danoski. Viktoria Plzeň opened brightly and took the early lead in the 8th minute before Danoski then scored two goals in the 16th and 22th minute to give Příbram a 2:1 lead for the time being.
In the 16th minute, Zoran capitalized on a mistake by defender Václav Procházka to gather the ball and fire a left footed shot past the Viktoria Plzeň keeper to level the score at 1:1. Six minutes later, Danoski scored with a volley with his right foot after being set up with a cross by striker Petr Švancara.
Viktoria Plzeň equalized the score at 2:2 just before halftime through a converted penalty, and proved to be too tough for Příbram in the 2nd half by rolling to a 2:4 road victory. Danoski played until the 76th minute when he was substituted by Lukas Stratil, and also picked up a yellow card in the 35th minute.
As for some background on the player, Danoski was born in Prilep and turns 23 years old on the 20th of October. He is usually fielded as a left winger for Příbram, a club that he joined last summer from Czech second division side Baník Most. Last season, Zoran scored just one goal in 12 league appearances. He has now already surpassed that number with his two goals in today’s game.
