Cup: Rabotnichki – Pelister 2:0

Rabotnichki defeated Pelister 2:0 in the return leg of the Macedonian Cup quarter-final to advance to the semi-finals.

Pelister’s staunch defending survived 77 minutes at the National Arena Philip II of Macedon, but Rabotnichki then managed to break down the visitors and scored two goals, thus qualifying for the semi-finals of the Macedonian Cup.

Pelister defeated Rabotnichki 1:0 in Bitola in the first leg and came to Skopje with one goal – to defend the lead. They did that until the 77th minute when Krste Velkoski found Demir Imeri who fired a shot past keeper Goran Pashovski. With that result, the match would head into a penalty shootout, but Velkoski had different ideas and scored Rabotnichki’s second goal in the 86th minute. Pelister then took over the initiative and moved players further up the field looking for a goal, but they could not create anything serious and were eliminated from the competition.

Thus, Rabotnichki joins Metalurg, Teteks and Bregalnica in the semi-finals of the Macedonian Cup.
