CLQ preview: Renova – Omonia

UEFA ChampionsLeagueToday Renova will play the return leg of the 2nd round of the Champions League qualification against Omonia who has a good advantage of 3:0 from the first leg played on Cyprus.

Renova is facing a mission impossible. The 3:0 lead from the first leg is a Mount Everest climbing for the Gypsum Boys, but in football everything is possible although something looks like really impossible. This time Nedzat Sabani’s team won’t have the heavy stadium athmosphere made by the Omonia fans, but the hot weather in Skopje will definitely make the play to go hard for both teams. However, Sabani is facing several squad problems before the game as defender Darko Ignjatovski won’t be able to play due to the red card that was given to him in the 6th minute of the first game and the fact that still injured are defender Vladimir Despotovski, forward Ismail Ismaili and Mauritanian striker Abdoulaye Gueye who will probably miss the start of the Macedonian season as well. Maybe with a few changes in the team, Renova could at least have a decent European goodbye, with a minimal victory or at least a draw. A positive fact for Renova is the one that none in Macedonia expects from them to advance in the next round so the players will play without presure.

The game will start at 16.30 CET at the National Arena Philip II of Macedon in Skopje.

According to the bookmakers Omonia again is a firm favorite to win the game:

1 – 6.50 ; X – 3.50 ; 2 – 1.45 ;
