Borche Manevski could soon have a new team as he joined the Neftçi training camp which is being held in Turkey.  In addition, he also played in a friendly for the club yesterday which Neftçi lost 0:4 against Russian side Mordovia.  Newspaper reports from Azerbaijan report that Borche is only on trial but the expectation is that he will be offered a contract.

Manevski recently became a free agent after his contract expired with Rabotnichki following the conclusion of the season.  The Macedonian league champion, Vardar, was very interested in adding Manevski to the attack as a possible replacement for Filip Ivanovski, who is expected to leave, but Borche’s first preference was to move abroad.  Now, over the next couple of days, it should be known officially whether Neftçi plans on signing Manevski, as most Azerbaijani newspapers predict.

Borche spent the past two seasons with Rabotnichki where he was one of the prolific scorers in the Macedonian league.  However, Manevski, who will turn 27 years old in early July, has now decided to pursue an opportunity from abroad and looks likely to continue his career in Azerbaijan with Neftçi.  If he signs with the defending league champions from that country, Borche will become teammates with fellow Macedonian Igor Mitreski.  Slavcho Georgievski also played for Neftçi in the past two seasons but he moved to in-city rival Inter Bakı several weeks ago.  Neftçi, by finishing in first place this past season, will participate in the UEFA Champions League qualifications later in the summer.
