Central defender Boban Grncharov has been removed from the squad of Botev Plovdiv due to conduct detrimental to the team.
Following the scoreless draw against Beroe on Thursday, Grncharov’s team Botev Plovdiv dropped down to 5th place in the standings in the Bulgarian top division. With the resent results not being up to par, the club’s atmosphere is not at its best level. This is evident by the fact that Grncharov has been removed from the squad after an alleged improper behavior towards the club’s sporting director Aleksandar Aleksandrov that damaged Botev’s prestige. Upon his request, Grncharov has been removed from the first team. No information was given as to how long his removal will last.
Botev Plovdiv had big ambitions before the start of the season, but they are now eight points behind the top ranked teams on the table. Grncharov was a regular player for Botev, featuring in 19 matches and scoring one goal. This was Boban’s second season with Botev Plovdiv who he joined in the summer of 2012 from Belgian side Lierse.
