Boban Grnacov only played the 1st half for Lierse during yesterday’s Belgian Cup game because of a quadriceps contusion.

The injury to Boban Grncarov is not believed to be serious but he might miss the weekend game against Westerlo.  Boban suffered a quadriceps contusion during the 1st half and managed to finish the half but the Lierse manager did not want to take any risks so he substituted Grncarov at the start of the 2nd half.  Lierse eventually defeated Turnhout 1:0 to advance to the next round of the domestic cup.

Grncarov signed a 1 year deal with Lierse with an option for an additional year as a free agent after spending the past two years in Cyprus with APOEL.  Boban has played the maximum 630 minutes for Lierse after seven league games and the defense has actually been a bright spot for Lierse as they have only conceded six goals.  The problem for Lierse has been the attack as they have only scored four goals in those seven games.

Boban has also made 21 appearances for the Macedonian national team and has scored one goal during a World Cup qualifier against Norway in 2009.  However, since the appointment of new manager John Toshack, Grncarov has not been included in the Macedonian squad.
