The 30-year-old Bazhe Ilijoski had double reason to celebrate on Tuesday. Not only did he help Rabotnichki beat Metalurg 2:0, he also notched his 100th goal in league play.

Ilijoski began his career with his current club, but he often changed teams, mostly going abroad to play in far East countries such as South Korea, Japan and Thailand. However, his foreign adventures would not last long, often leading to a return to Rabotnichki. On one earlier occasion, he opted to sign for Metalurg. Overall, from his 100 goals in the top division, 74 have come in a Rabotnichki jersey, while 26 came in a Metalurg jersey.

So, it’s pretty fitting that he hit the century mark while facing Metalurg. Ilijoski becomes the fourth player to reach that milestone in the Macedonian league. The others are Zoran Boshkovski, Vancho Micevski and Dragan Dimitrovski. Bazhe still has several seasons in front of him, so he can close in on those three guys if, of course, he remains with Rabotnichki beyond this year.

Besides the goals, Ilijoski has also won four domestic league trophies (all with Rabotnichki) and three domestic cup trophies (twice with Rabotnichki and once with Metalurg). Concerning the latter, he can make it four next week when Rabotnichki meets Teteks in the cup final. Internationally, he won one trophy, that being the Thailand Cup as a member of Bangkok Glass.

As for the national team, Bazhe has scored one goal in his ten appearances. He got on the scoresheet against Liechtenstein back in 2005 when he scored a late goal to hand Macedonia a 2:1 win in that friendly.
