Bajram Fetai on trial with Montreal Impact

Fetai is looking to win a contract with MontrealAttacker Bajram Fetai has joined Montreal Impact of Major League Soccer on trial after being recommended to the club by Patrice Bernier.

The move was also confirmed on the official twitter page of Montreal Impact which stated earlier in the day that Bajram Fetai has joined the club on trial.  According to newspaper reports, Fetai came in contact with Montreal Impact thanks to a recommendation by Patrice Bernier, currently a member of the club.  Fetai and Bernier were once teammates at Danish side Nordsjælland earlier in their career and after Bajram stated several weeks ago that he was open to a move in the U.S. league, he likely approached Bernier about putting in a word about him at the club.

Fetai was a free agent after both he and his former club Lyngby mutually agreed to part ways.  Lyngby was relegated to the second division in Denmark plus Bajram was not receiving much playing time to close the season, so both sides agreed it was best to go their separate ways.

Montreal plays in the Eastern Conference of Major League Soccer (MLS), the top U.S. league featuring clubs from both America and Canada, and has some big name players on its roster with the likes of Alessandro Nesta and Marco Di Vaio, two well known Italian players.  Montreal is only in 8th place out of 10 teams in the conference after 21 games played with a goal difference of -10.

Bajram has been capped three times by the Macedonian national team, all coming in friendlies.  His first two appearances came under former manager Mirsad Jonuz while his lone cap under John Toshack came on 15 November 2011 in a 0:0 draw against Albania.
