U21, photo:FFM.com.mkBoban Babunski announced the squad of the Macedonian U21 national team for the upcoming qualifiers against Faroe Islands and Denmark for the 2013 UEFA European U21 Championships.

After the initial draw against Serbia last month, Macedonia has two important qualifiers coming up against Faroe Islands on the 11th of November and then four days later, faces Denmark as both games will be played at the Boris Trajkovski Stadium in the Skopje settlement of Madzari.  Macedonia U21 expects an easy win over Faroe Islands and a hard fought game against Denmark who has yet to concede a goal in these qualifications after three games with a goal difference of +7.

The squad by Babunski has minimal changes from that of the match against Serbia.  Andreja Efremov is called up instead of Stole Dimitrievski at the goalkeeping position, the defense is the same, Napredok’s Darko Glisik is called up for the injured Antonio Stankov in midfield, while attacker Nikola Jakimovski takes the place of Ferhan Hasani who has also been slowed down by an injury.

The players’ meeting is scheduled for the 7th of November.  Boban Babunski pointed out that the play of the Macedonian basketball team should serve as an inspiration for the players of the U21 team.  That should be the only way to defend the colors of the national team – teamwork instead of individual showing off.  ‘It is a fact that we have not suffered a defeat over the last year, only wins and draws – we want to continue in that direction’ – noted Babunski for FFM official website.
