Midfielder Filip Despotovski could be returning to Azerbaijan as AZAL has shown interest in signing the player.

Filip Despotovski, a defensive midfielder, is currently a free agent after his contract expired with Rabotnichki.  Like many players in Macedonia, his first preference was to move abroad and that could happen shortly as Azarbaijani side AZAL has expressed interest in signing the player.

Despotovski has experience playing in Azerbaijan as he spent the 2010-11 season with Inter Bakı.  He made just 12 league appearances in that season as Filip was plagued with several injuries.  The 29-year-old defensive midfielder spent the past year with Rabotnichki, but appears headed for another foreign adventure.  Despotovski has played for numerous clubs throughout his career in countries such as Serbia, Greece, Ukraine and Azerbaijan to go along with the Macedonia as well.
