Midfielder Armend Alimi has signed a multiyear agreement with Swedish top division side Örebro.
Armend Alimi has landed with a new club after he left Croatian side Istra 1961. Alimi was already in Sweden, on trial, for about a week before he officially signed a contract with Örebro SK. The 24-year-old started his career with Bashkimi from Kumanovo and has also played for Milano in the Macedonian league before leaving for Croatia. Armend has also made 9 caps for the Macedonian national team but has not been called up under new manager John Toshack.
“I signed for a decent Swedish club. I was training here for about a week and left a very good impression on the club and players. The reception has been warm and I hope to help the club with my qualities as a footballer” – Alimi told the club’s official web site.
Örebro is getting ready for the start of the new season in the Swedish top division and the club has so far signed six new players, including Armend Alimi. Last season, Örebro finished in 12th place so the Swedish side will look to improve on that when the new campaign gets underway on 31 March.
