Attacker Aco Stojkov provided the assist on the lone goal for Aarau in today’s 1:0 road win over Bellinzona.
Two years ago, these two teams were playing in the Swiss top division but each team was recently relegated and they faced off today in the second division. Stojkov started for Aarau and played until the 75th minute when he was replaced by Alain Schultz. In the 19th minute, Stojkov was credited with the assist when he combined nicely with his teammate Shkelzen Gashi who then scored the only goal of the game with a shot from about 13 meters past the opposing keeper.
With the narrow road victory, Aarau moved to fourth place with 22 points after eleven rounds while today’s opponents, Bellinzona, remained in second place with 24 points.
