Today at FFM’s headquarters took place the draw for the pairs of the play-off for filling the Macedonian top flight.
Unlike previous seasons when the draw was divided between teams belonging to East and West, this years that rule was abolished, which in our opinion is a mistake by FFM.
Draw results:
Tikvesh (1.MFL 10th) vs. Voska Sport (2.MFL West runner-up)
Skopje (1.MFL 9th) vs. Belasica (2.MFL East runner-up)
Both matches will be played on Sunday at 17.00 CET.
The match featuring Tikvesh and Voska Sport was first scheduled to be played at the Goce Delchev stadium in Prilep, but few hours later FFM change the location into National Arena Todor Proeski in Skopje, citing safety reasons as both teams announced that will bring many fans. The Arena has 4 stands and a capacity of over 30.000, but on Friday there will be played the Cup final, while later in June the Macedonian national team will have two back to back Nations League matches. Tikvesh immediately announced that don’t accept the change of location and that they won’t be coming to Skopje, forcing FFM to look for a solution. FFM then contacted the Ministry of internal affairs for help regarding a buffer zone at the stadium in Prilep so the that the match could take place there. Later FFM abandoned the Prilep idea and moved the match to Strumica.
The match between Skopje and Belasica will be played at the Gradski stadium in Shtip.
