Voska Sport announced withdrawal from 1.MFL

After FFM deducted 9 points from Voiska Sport, the Ohrid based club today announced that they are withdrawing from competing in the Macedonian top flight.

Voska Sport released a long statement announcing the withdrawal:

“Voska Sport has decided to withdrew from the 1.MFL championship. A decision that comes after an unexpected and unacceptable decision of the Disciplinary Commission of the Football Federation of Macedonia, which has sentenced us to deduction of 9 points, in a hot moment in the race for survival, with 5 rounds remaining to play until the end of the season.
FFM’s latest decision is the culmination of a series of unbiased decisions motivated by other interests, where the sole aim has been our failure and withdrawal from the top flight.
On this occasion, we FORGIVE THE FEDERATION THE REMAINING 13 POINTS. This is no longer a fair race. We have not only fought with opponents on the field, but also with the referees, who made decisions without any logic in every match, but also against all factors that intended our departure from the elite.
Since the beginning of the second half-season, we are aware that there has been a clear strategy to weaken us and pull us out of this championship. We have been given double treatment, where for the same offense, others are more easily punished, but for us, there has always been severe measures.
The Football Federation of Macedonia has acted as an institution that has done everything to favor clubs that are connected to their close interests. This latest decision is just another proof that in the 1.MFL organized by FFM, there is no justice.
This FFM head does not allow a race equally despite the campaign they do for ‘fair-play’. They have done everything to remove us from this championship, where the only obstacle it seems has been that we are an Albanian club.
If this is the football they want, then we are not willing to be a part of it.”

If the club stays on the decision not to play, the remaining 5 matches of Voska Sport will be awarded 3:0 for the opponents, starting from Monday when they are scheduled to face Brera Strumica away.

Those matches are:
R29: Brera Strumica – Voska Sport 3:0 awarded
R30: Voska Sport – Tikvesh 0:3 awarded
R31: Pelister – Voska Sport 3:0 awarded
R32: Besa 1976 – Voska Sport 3:0 awarded
R33: Voska Sport – Shkupi 0:3 awarded

Since Voska Sport is withdrawing, they will not be relegated in the second league for next season, but according to the rules they will have to start from the local 4th league, it the club continues to exist as there are rumors that they may dissolve. That means that an extra spot will open in the 2.MFL for the season 2025/26. According to the rules, no second league club will be speared from relegation, but an extra club will be promoted from the third league groups. The play-off for filling the second league will take place as normal, but of the three losing sides one lucky loser will be promoted by drawing lots.
