What was expected to be a tight game ended with one team being humiliated.  Rabotnichki was an unwelcoming host to Shkendija, celebrating a win with five goals to none.

The first half was marked by the hat-trick of Rabotnichki captain Krste Velkoski.  He opened the scoring early in the 10th minute after an assist by Borche Manevski.  Later, Manevski was brought down in the box by Egzon Belica, and Velkoski converted the penalty kick for his second goal of the game.  Ten minutes before the break, Manevski again found Velkovski who scored his best goal of the day with a beautifully chip over the visiting keeper.

The second half was a similar story.  Shkendija could not do much of anything, and Rabotnichki continued to control the game.  Velkoski turned provided in the hour mark when he found Manevski who got a goal of his own as well.  Nine minutes before the end, substitute Tauljant Sulejmanov scored to set the final 5:0 scoreline.

Video of the goals:

With the three goals, Velkoski is currently the top goalscorer in the league with 14 goals.  He has missed just one game, the Round 2 win over Makedonija Gjorche Petrov.  Despite his good play over the years, Velkoski has been largely ignored by the national team.  He wasn’t even called up to the squad composed only of domestic players that faced Poland last December.

All the other games of Round 16 are scheduled for tomorrow at 13.00 CET.
