Vardar continued to strengthen their team with the signings of Filip Ivanovski and Nikola Karcev.
Former members of the Macedonian national team in Filip Ivanovski and Nikola Karcev have signed with Vardar. Ivanovski joins the team as a free agent after he was released by Ethnikos Achnas earlier this summer while Karcev comes from China as he spent last season with Shanghai East Asia.
Ivanovski is still only 26 years old and he was training with Vardar for several weeks but today he officially became a Vardar player. He was looking for a team abroad but said that if he could not find the right team, he would sign with Vardar. He recently scored a goal for Vardar in a 1:0 friendly win against Bosnian team Čelik. Ivanovski will wear #10 for Vardar and look to improve Vardar’s attack after a disappointing season last year. Filip was most successful during his stint with Polish club Polonia Warszawa where he played from 2008 to 2010.
Ivanovski also has five appearances for the Macednian national team and has scored one goal during a world cup qualifying game against Iceland in the summer of 2009. On the other hand, Karcev has made three caps for the senior national team with his latest call-up being in a friendly game against China on 22 December 2010. According to latest rumors in Macedonian newspapers, Vardar also wants to sign Aleksandar Vasoski and Yani Urdinov.
