Inter played their second friendly today and Pandev added two more goals.
Inter won 6:1 over Mezzocorona in today’s friendly and Goran Pandev managed to score two goals. During the first two friendlies for Inter, Pandev has now scored a total of three goals. Pandev opened the scoring in the 2nd minute when Samuel Eto’o found him before Pandev slotted a left footed shot past the opposing keeper. Pandev then came close to scoring again but he hit the post in the 4th and 6th minute to keep the score at 1:0. In the 41st minute, with Inter leading 4:0, Pandev scored his second goal of the game which gave Inter a 5:0 lead going into halftime. Pandev eventually played until the 59th minute when he was substituted by Denis Alibec.
These friendlies are important for Pandev because he needs to prove himself to the new Inter manager Gian Piero Gasperini. He has faced speculation about possibly transferring to Genoa or Napoli but Pandev wants to stay with Inter so he must convince Gasperini of his qualities. Pandev started on the left wing in a 3-4-3 formation for Inter. He has done well up to this point but he must continue with his good form if he wants to remain with Inter.
